Lanta Animal Welfare is a non profit charity based in south west Thailand. We are dedicated to improving the lives of all animals, relieving pain and suffering. Lanta Animal Welfare was founded by Junie Kovaks in 2005. Her mission was to end the suffering of the hundreds of homeless, abused and injured animals on Koh Lanta.

LANTA ANIMAL WELFARE. You may see a lot of stray dogs and cats here, many of which are fed and looked after well by resorts, restaurants and locals. There are also many that suffer from starvation, disease and abuse. Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a charity organization founded to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on Koh Lanta.

Lanta Animal Welfare was founded by Junie Kovaks in 2005. Her mission was to end the suffering of the hundreds of homeless, abused and injured animals on Koh Lanta. To date, we have sterilised and treated over 15,000 animals, and with your support we continue to grow helping more and more animals each year. Lanta Animal Welfare is building a new cat house along with a brand-new cat area. Our current Cat House is old, damaged by termites, and too small for our cat population. The construction broke ground this past June, and targeting the end of the year for Koh Lanta The district, located approximately 70 km from Krabi Town, consists of two major islands, the larger, more populated Ko Lanta Yai (commonly known simply as Ko Lanta) and the smaller Ko Lanta Noi, as well as several minor islands.
